Recently, Fitz was merely known as "boy." Born as the illegitimate son of a prominent noble, Fitz finds refuge under the care of his uncle, Prince Verity. Verity undertakes the task of preparing Fitz for a significant journey to the capital, where he is to meet his royal grandfather. However, Fitz is far from an ordinary child. Deep within him stirs an ancient power, one destined to alter the course of the Six Duchies forever.

This narrative forms the backbone of the comic series titled "Assassin’s Apprentice," which debuted in 2022. Penned by renowned writers Robin Hobb and Jody Houser, with illustrations by the talented Ryan Kelly, the series is brought to readers by Dark Horse Comics.
